Fitness Journey – Week 5

Well I have had a super busy weekend and an even busier Monday! The wife and I are in the process of starting a new business and today we were doing a lot of logistical preparation so we can start the new business after the new year. So I had a later than normal work out today and then we decided to get some dinner afterwards. It was delicious.

Mental Check

Nothing really new to report as far as where my head is. I am still really happy with the strength progress I have made and I am excited to continue on this journey. A good friend of mine suggested that I get myself a pair of body fat measuring calipers to better track my overall fat loss. I’m not sure why I hadn’t thought of that before but what a great suggestion! So if you are reading this, thank you! I have ordered them and they are on their way now so hopefully next Monday I can give you all a more accurate picture of where I currently stand.

Weekly Weigh In

12/4/17 – 180.4

Loss: 1.6 Pounds

What a relief that was to see on the scale today after weighing myself last Wednesday. I think it may have even helped me stay good on my calories during the weekend though because I knew I was higher than I wanted to be so I might even do that again this week. Slowly but surely I am making my way down on the scale and body fat. I am feeling stronger every week and feeling good about the progress. I enjoy the “slow and steady” method quite a bit more than my previous kill myself for a month at a time. It’s been really nice to not have as much pressure to be perfect and be able to understand that if I treat it like a sprint, that’s all it will ever be.¬†Treating it like a never ending process and just doing good every week just makes it so much less stressful and much more maintainable. I know the idea that it is “never ending” can sounding discouraging but the truth in the matter is that being fit is a lifestyle, if you treat it like a sprint you might be able to get into great shape very quickly but then you will most likely put all the weight back on and lose all that progress. It’s like when someone wins the lottery and then they are broke a couple of years later. If you don’t learn how to grind to get there, you don’t know how to stay there.

Thanks for reading today’s post! If you like what you are reading please give it a share and a like! Also, if you have any questions or what any advice on something specific, please reach out to me either privately or in the comments! Thanks all.

You’re not getting any younger!
